Now that I'm no longer in Korea, I'll probably be using this blog instead.

Strangers in My Home

I woke up from my nap this afternoon to the sound of the toilet flushing in my apartment. I said 누구야 (Who is it?). A man poked his head around the corner and said something about the bathroom. I nodded and rolled back over to sleep. Perhaps I should have been more concerned, but I was tired after eating a Big Mac value meal and a Quarter Pounder value meal for dinner. I was really hungry after only eating ramien for lunch. Conversely, Korean's look at me like I've won the lottery when they see ramien. They have Pavlovian conditioning to salivate and say "Ooooh ramien?!!" What was my point? Oh yeah...

I left my keys with the security guard so that building management or realtors (not sure who) can show my apartment to renters. Now people are knocking at my door at 8:30 pm to look at my place and, apparently, walk in unannounced while I'm sleeping. Granted, I do sleep with headphones, so maybe he knocked and came in when there was no answer.

Anyway, buildings expect quick turnover between renters, so my home is a transit stop until someone likes it.
