Now that I'm no longer in Korea, I'll probably be using this blog instead.

Jinju - Thursday & Friday, August 11 & 12

I decided on Jinju a day or two beforehand. I chose it because it's a halfway point between Boseong and Busan.

I got there and immediately went to a 24-hour Jjimchilbang to sleep. I met a new friend there, Bang Sung-kwang. We went out for dinner, shared photos then slept on the floor.
The next day we decided to tour the city together. His friend, who lives in the city, was our tour guide.
The city's main sight is Jinju Fortress, which is similar to the fortress of Gongju and Buyeo. This was from period of the Three Kingdoms.

This is Ui-am "Righteous" Rock. After the Japanese invasion. According to the inscription, a woman seduced the Japanese commander to this rock. She held onto him and threw herself into the river, drowning them both. I'm not really sure if I'm allowed to be standing on it.

I just the concept of a Gift Shop Toilet was really awesome.
I don't think the park was intending to be as preachy as it seemed.

The heat (for me) seemed to reach it's peak at Jinju. It was dangerously hot. The wonderful thing about Korea is that there are numerous tourist information centers throughout. There was one outside the fortress in which we were able to leave our backpacks. Regardless, we were excited about this museum (without the fortress), not because any of us like museums, but because we knew it would be air conditioned.

I lost my hat on the first day of my trip. I was sad. I bought this one as soon as I arrived in Jinju. It looks silly, but I love it.

After the fortress, she took me to the post office so i could mail some things that no longer wanted to carry around back to my apartment in Anyang. Then we went to Jinyangho Park. On Saturdays they have bullfights, but I was a day early.
This is the "One Year Bridge" because it has 365 stairs.
